The wines of the Merul series are produced by the following varieties: “Cabernet Sauvignon”, “Merlot”, “Mavrud”, “Syrah”, “Chardonnay” and “Muscat”. These wines are typical representatives of the “new world” that conquered the wine manufacturing for the last couple of years. The maceration and fermentation of the grapes is carried out in stainless steel fermenters with precisely controlled temperature. The wines of this series are with live, vibrant color, intensive aroma, comprised of the aroma of well ripened grapes with fruit nuances characteristic for the variety and micro-area. The taste of the wines is dense, well balanced and harmonic. The aftertaste is lasting with feeling of the grape variety and fines.
The grapes for that classy young wine “Merul” Cabernet Sauvignon is selected with great care from the vine years of the Thracian plain and by the skillful combination of the local traditions with modern technologies, we were able to create a wine with deep ruby color, rich aroma of ripened black fruits, balanced soft tasted and long aftertaste.
The establishment of the vineyards started in 2005 after numerous studies and tests of the region, in terms of soil, climate and air currents. The place is located in the village of Smilec – in terms of geography in Pazardjik field, and in terms of wine region – in Thracian plain.
The total area of the vineyards is 54 hectares, located in two allotments– “Bakadjik” and “Peso pole”. The grape varieties structure is as follows – Mavrud, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah for the red and Muscat ottonel and Chardonnay for the white wine varieties.
The location of each of the grape variety is chosen according to the soil properties of the allotments and the peculiarities of the vineyards. The saplings are with Bulgarian origin. The construction for the vines is with wooden posts and the number of vines per hectare is according to the requirements for high quality wines.
After couple of vintages we can say that the raw material is with extremely high quality, which can be guaranteed through time. The good raw materials are the main prerequisite for perfect wine.
Rumelia wine cellar was established in 2006 in the town of Panaguriste, on the Thracian plains.

Rumelia wine cellar processes grapes with high quality that have gathered the sun’s rays of Golden Thracia – prerequisite and guarantee for producing a high level of quality wines. The cellar is equipped with state-of-the-art technology for elite red wine production, for which the style and fine taste are result of the strict control of every grape batch. The wine cellar can process 500-600 tons of grapes per year, which is enough for the production of 400-500 thousand bottles of wine per year. The underground cellar has barrels, made from French, American and Bulgarian oak, with capacity of 1000 barriques.
